Alexander Rechter is a Polish and Israeli businessman, currently active mainly in the realm of real estate in both countries. A native of Poland, Alex immigrated to Israel with his parents and was schooled in an Israeli kibbutz, and Carmel College public boarding high school for Jewish boys in England, then at Yale University where he received a B.A. degree in Psychology. He went on to study law at Tel Aviv University, and for several years practiced as a lawyer. Meanwhile, he served in the Spokespersons Unit of the Israeli army, being eventually honorably discharged at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
He also authored two books on the legal aspects of the diamond trade. He left his legal career to become fully involved in business, was among the founders of Kardan N.V., a Dutch public company traded in Amsterdam and Tel Aviv, and the CEO and major shareholder of Biogas Nord AG, a German renewable energy company traded in Frankfurt.
Alex enjoys producing movies, and to date has produced three full-length Hebrew feature films. He alternates between his homes in Warsaw and Tel Aviv, where he lives with his wife and the younger two of his five children.
